Reduce an image file when re-encoding helps

Choose a supported quality output, compare the actual before-and-after byte counts, and keep the result only when it suits the job.

When this tool is a good fit

Use this for a supported still image that must be easier to attach or publish and can tolerate a reviewed re-encode.

  • Prepare a working copy and keep your original file unchanged.
  • Read the limits below before opening the private workspace.
  • Review the generated result on your device before sharing or replacing anything.

What you receive

The result is one locally generated image in the chosen supported format, with a truthful size comparison and fixed output name.

The workspace is a separate, ad-free page designed for the document task. This information page never receives a selected file and does not run the processor.

How to prepare and finish

  1. Start with one supported JPG, PNG or WebP image and keep the original because compression may change visual detail.
  2. Open the private workspace, choose an available quality or clean re-encode option, and inspect the preview at useful zoom.
  3. Compare the measured local file sizes and download only when the new image is acceptable; a larger result is reported honestly.

What stays private

  • Decoding and re-encoding happen inside the browser workspace, and EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC and comment metadata are not copied.
  • The public page receives neither the image nor its before-and-after size, name, pixels or metadata.
